A non-immigrant visa is issued to a person who looks for temporary residence in the United States. This visa is issued to a candidate who is willing to stay in the US on a temporary basis which could be for vacation industry, medical purpose (any treatment), business, or temporary study/work purpose. Non-immigrant visas enable foreign nationals to live in the United States and work for a certain amount of time. These visas give the freedom to do certain things in the US for a limited time period. EB 5 Visa must not be mistaken for permanent residency or citizenship.

Below mentioned is a list of common non-immigrant visas which are used by businesses:

B-VISA Tourism/Business

B1 is for business: If you are coming for business, or you have a business meeting or you are an athlete participating in a competition which does not pay you but you are competing for a prize. This comes under the category of B1 Visa.

B2 is for tourism/vacation: B2 visa is issued for travelling and vacation purposes. In another word, we would call it Disney land. This visa does not require an explanation. This visa is issued for a short period of time and within the time length, the visitor has to return back. They cannot stay in the US after the limit is over.

C VISA

C Visa is for crew members. If you are coming on a ship and working on a temporary basis, then C Visa is suitable.

E-VISA

E-VISA stands for Investor Visas: Investors may receive visas to carry on or expand their business. This can be only done in the U.S. if a person investing in the USA has a commercial treaty with the U.S. conferring visa eligibility. There are classifications of E-VISA under the category of E1 VISA and E2 VISA. E1 stands for investor visa and E2 stands for treaty visa in which you invest with a trading company.

F VISA

F VISA stands for a student visa. This visa allows you to attend school or college in the US. This visa allows you to study for a temporary period. After the duration is over, the candidate must return back to his/her country. Note: With this visa, the candidate cannot work anywhere in the US.

G VISA

G VISA stands for International Organization Employees. If you are going to work for an international organization such as UAN, then G VISA is suitable.

H-1B Specialty Occupation (Professional) Visas

Professional workers who have their bachelor’s degree at a minimum or if they have equivalent work experience, then they may be eligible for a non-immigrant visa. It happens in the case if their employers demonstrate that they are to be paid at least the prevailing wage for the position.

I VISA

I VISA stands for Foreign Correspondents. If the candidate works for a foreign media company and wants to come to the US they may come through I VISA.

J-1 and Q-1 Exchange Visitor Visas

Under this category of visa, anyone who comes to the U.S. his/her visa covers student’s different needs such as short-term scholars, business trainees, teachers, professors and research scholars, specialists, international visitors, government visitors, and camp counsellors.

Q VISA

Q Visas are suitable for candidates who look for temporary basis employment in the US. They can look for a cultural unique or private enterprise.

L-1 Intra-company Transfer Visas

L-1 visas are available for those who have a company abroad and want to set a subsequent company in the US, the candidate can do it through L1 visa. Moreover, the executives, managers and specialized knowledge employees transfer to their employer’s U.S. affiliate, parent or subsidiary. Executives/managers holding L-1 visas may be eligible for permanent residency without the need for a labour certification.

O and P VISAS

They stand for extraordinary ability aliens. At odds, these visas are eligible for all kinds of entertainment, business, athletics, sports and science.

The P-1 is for Artists and Athletes. This category covers professional athletes, artists, and entertainers.

R VISA

This visa is eligible for Religious workers. If the candidate is a priest or works for religious purposes, they may come through R VISA and work in the US.
